Defense Industry
Our partner is a manufacturer of advanced radar systems for military applications. Addit is responsible for a project involving the production of specialized enclosures that form an integral part of a mobile medium-range radar system, protecting critical electronic equipment and ensuring its reliable operation under demanding operating conditions.
The project began with the adaptation of an enclosure design previously used in naval radar systems to a new mobile radar platform intended for land forces. Addit is responsible for product development, preparation of technical documentation, manufacturing process development, and assembly of complete units. One of the key challenges was achieving high leak tightness, structural rigidity, and geometric accuracy while joining components with significantly different material thicknesses. To address these requirements, Addit developed a laser welding process with filler material, dedicated welding fixtures, and specialized leak-testing and quality assurance procedures.
Another important aspect of the project was active engineering support throughout product development. Addit prepared successive design revisions, proposed solutions to improve manufacturing repeatability, and optimized the enclosure design while maintaining the required structural strength. Leveraging its expertise in manufacturing engineering, precision welded structures, and comprehensive quality assurance, Addit delivers complete modules that meet the defense industry’s stringent requirements for leak tightness, environmental resistance, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and operational reliability.
