Internal & External Infrastructure
Our partner is a leading manufacturer of fully automatic coffee machines. Addit was selected to support the development of a new-generation coffee machine equipped with an integrated ice module, taking responsibility for product development, industrialization, and the gradual ramp-up of serial production.
From the very beginning, the project was based on a partnership approach and extended far beyond traditional contract manufacturing. The customer was looking for a supplier capable of actively participating in product development, prototyping, design optimization, and the preparation of a scalable manufacturing process.
A major challenge was the organization of a complex international supply chain involving components sourced from both Europe and the United States, as well as adapting production organization to rapidly changing order volumes. Addit developed a flexible manufacturing model, implemented logistics solutions based on a Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) warehouse and the active processing customs procedure, and gradually assumed responsibility for additional manufacturing and assembly processes.
Scope of the Project
- analysis of technical requirements and participation in product development from the prototyping stage
- production of prototypes and pilot series in close cooperation with the customer’s engineering teams
- organization of an international supply chain and implementation of a logistics model based on a Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) warehouse
- development of manufacturing technologies and industrialization of successive product revisions
- gradual expansion of the manufacturing and assembly scope for additional machine subassemblies
- implementation of a One Piece Flow assembly process
