One of our partners is a leading international manufacturer of marine navigation systems.
In this project, Addit was responsible for the detailed engineering and manufacturing of ship consoles. The consoles are operated in marine environment – thus they have to fulfil strict regulations and requirements.
The biggest challenge was choosing proper materials that would fulfill all given requirements and fitting all the elements together in limited space, taking into account all specified requirements.
The project requires Addit to have extensive experience in riveting, gluing and welding of multiple layers of aluminum sheets.
Addit takes care of the complete mechanical assembly as well as management of the complete supply chain.
Project challenges
The design of the consoles had to fulfill numerous requirements, among others:
- IP52 class protection
- Design for environmental requirements
- EMC – Shock(15G) and vibration resistance
- Corrosion protection
- Operating conditions.
Scope of the project
By the manufacturing of these consoles, Addit was responsible for:
- Detailed engineering in accordance with customer specifications
- Creation of documentation according to customer standards
- Managing the supply chain
