Addit, your reliable partner for complex and demanding analytical and laboratory industry.

Market Segment:

Diagnostics, analytics, and laboratory technology

Our partner is a global supplier of advanced laboratory equipment utilizing X-ray radiation for non-destructive analysis of material structure and composition. These systems are widely used in quality control, R&D, and material analysis across industries such as pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and materials engineering.
The project delivered by Addit covered the manufacturing and assembly of the machine frame and enclosure, meeting stringent requirements in terms of quality, safety, and process repeatability.
From the outset, Addit acted as a technology and industrialization partner, working closely with the customer to develop detailed technical documentation, define the bill of materials (BOM), and resolve design and manufacturability challenges. The project required intensive collaboration and strong engagement from engineering teams on both sides.
One of the key challenges was achieving high dimensional precision, particularly in the door system, which is critical for ensuring full operator protection against X-ray radiation.

Scope of the project:

  • Collaboration with the customer on the development of technical documentation and BOM to ensure production readiness and stable serial manufacturing
  • Development and implementation of welding technologies, including dedicated fixtures and welding jigs to ensure repeatability and maintain tight tolerances
  • End-to-end execution of manufacturing processes, including sheet metal fabrication, welded assemblies, and mechanical and electrical assembly
  • Advanced door assembly and precision alignment/calibration processes to ensure operator safety and compliance with radiation protection standards
  • Implementation of KTL (cataphoretic coating) and multi-stage industrial painting processes
  • Execution of functional testing and dimensional inspections to ensure full compliance with product specifications
  • Engineering support in the selection of alternative mounting and fastening components to reduce lead times and improve availability
  • Proactive design optimization proposals aimed at reducing production costs and improving manufacturability (DFM)
  • Development of dedicated transport and packaging solutions to protect the product and maintain its critical functional parameters during transit
